AREA 1R U10/U12 Tournament Rules

Please ask Coaches to review all information regarding Discipline, Protests, Behavior, etc. in the Area Playoffs Guidelines.

CHECK-IN 45 MINS PRIOR TO START
Check-in will occur 45 minutes prior to the start of the game. 
The Check-in Tents will be open starting at 630am.

(1) Coaches will line-up their teams at the Check-in location.
(2) Once every player is available and onsite, Coach will report to the Check-in desk. 
(3) A Board representative will walk to each team, review the documentation and check players against their roster information
(4) Once a player is cleared, they will be provided a stamp. This stamp will need to be visible throughout the day.
Note: If a stamp washes off, please ask the player to report to the Board Tent. 

SIGNED ROSTERS & MEDICAL FORMS
RC Signed Rosters & Medical Forms MUST be Printed Out and Available at Playoffs at All Times. No exceptions! 
Rosters: Please be sure to print out all RC signed Rosters. You are also required to have Medical Release forms printed and available with you. 

MATCHING UNIFORMS
All players uniforms must wear matching uniforms. This includes SOCKS and undergarments. If players are wearing undergarments (ie. long sleeve shirt), any additional player who also chooses to wear one must make sure the color matches. 

AREA PLAYOFFS MINIMUM PLAY
Area R and National require all players to play a minimum of 50% of the game. However, teams in Area R Playoffs will be expected to adhere to the "minimum play" requirement set by their regions. For example, if a region has a 3/4 rule (75% minimum play), it is up to the team to continue that standard. For 1508, we require 75% playtime for each player. 

PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON FIELDS FOR ALL AYSO ACTIVITIES
Pets of any kind are NOT allowed on the field during games or practices. While we love our pets, please make sure to keep them at home. If a pet is seen on the field our Board Members will ask you to escort the pet off. The only exception is if the pet is a service animal. Even with Service Animals, only true Service Animals are allowed. Therapy Dogs and Emotional Support dogs are not allowed on any and all AYSO fields.

Notes: 
(1) First place team from each Pool advances 
(2) One "Wildcard" team will advance. A "Wildcard" is determined by the highest point value team who doesn't win their pool. 
(3) Semi-Final Match-ups: Pool A Winner vs. Pool B Winner | Pool Winner C vs. Wildcard Team
(4) Finals: Semi-Final Winner vs. Semi-Final Winner 
(5) Note: No Consolation Game

Please be sure to review these guidelines PRIOR to Playoff Saturday, December 9th. Best practice is for Coaches to print out a copy and bring it with you in case needed.

                                                                                     Key Information from the Area 1R Guidelines

Please be sure to read the guidelines prior to Playoffs however we've provided key notes everyone should be aware of: 

TOURNAMENT FORMAT
Each age division will be bracketed into playing pools. Each team will play a minimum of two qualifying games within their respective pools. There may be multiple flights in a division depending on the number of teams. In the case of a team drop or a shortage of teams in a particular division one or more pools may get a bye resulting in only one qualifying game. In each division, the team with the highest Standings Points in each pool and one wildcard team will advance to the semifinal games. 

GAME FORMAT
2023 Area 1R U10 / U12 / U14 playoff pool play matches will be played to the following lengths:

U10 Division: 25 minute halves 
U12 Division: 30 minute halves
U14 Division: 35 Minute halves

There will be a running clock during quarter substitutions for all games.  There will be no time added on for injuries or time wasted in pool play rounds.

The Home team has the choice of the kickoff to start the first half or the second half.  The Visiting team chooses which goal to defend in the first half.

STANDINGS
Standings for pool play round games and 3rd and 4th place winners will be determined as follows:

Winners of Standings Points ties for pool play rounds will be decided by the following:

Head-to-head competition record (the team who won in pool play advances)
Most number of wins
Goals allowed (team with fewest total goals allowed advances)
Goal differential (goals scored (max 5 per game) less total goals allowed - high team advances)
