American Youth Soccer Organization Providing world class youth soccer programs that enrich children's lives.

AYSO Region 1508 French Valley

AYSO EXTRA is a PROGRESSIVE PLAYER PROGRAM designed to provide a more challenging level of soccer for AYSO players who have the interest, skills and abilities. It enhances that player's experience and individual growth through soccer while retaining the spirit of and organization membership in AYSO. EXTRA is not designed to overshadow or harm the standard primary program - rather the goal is to strengthen AYSO by recruiting and retaining players and volunteers through providing more competitive play the AYSO way - all EXTRA programs embrace the Six Philosophies of AYSO.

Section One has two playing circuits designated by East & West. Each circuit will play within their circuit and maintain separate standings. Cross circuit play may be necessary in some divisions in order to give every team a competitive playing season.

For those who want to play harder and remain a part of AYSO 1508, EXTRA is perfect! This program gives AYSO youth athletes a more progressive soccer experience. With the right balance of competition and inclusion, you can feel secure knowing your child is part of a trusted organization and will be given fair playing time.

Criteria for the Select Season

  • EXTRA™ is a 10-month commitment
  • Players selected to the EXTRA Program will commit to their teams as their priority non-school activity. It is expected that every player attends each practice and game at the agreed upon times for the entire length of the season.
  • In order to satisfy the commitment required by the EXTRA Program, players may not be enrolled and participate in other non-AYSO or Club soccer programs during the EXTRA Program season. Players not adhering to their commitment and attendance may be subject to discipline.
  • It is expected that every player attends each practice and game at the scheduled times.
  • Parents are still required to support and volunteer as needed, including volunteering as referees for matches within AYSO Region 1508.
  • Each Extra team is required to provide a minimum of a 3-Referee Crew throughout the lifespan of the 10-month Extra program commitment. One Referee must be at the appropriate Referee level listed below.
